French Chateau Inspired Wedding Editorial
This editorial shoot was designed to showcase the stunning talent within Norfolk as well as the gorgeous venue that is Thurning Hall. Thurning Hall is a local venue in Norfolk; this editorial showcases their new addition – The Coach House, a newly renovated part of Thurning Hall.
The Vision – French Chateau Inspired Wedding
With a French Chateau vision, our team came together to produce this charming, detail-packed wedding editorial. It was important that the styling worked with the heritage and authenticity of the venue. Although the Coach House is newly restored, so many of the original Georgian features have been left intact, and the rich red brickwork is exposed throughout the building, giving a charming and nostalgic feeling. The natural colour palette to work with the surroundings was the classic white and green, with touches of terracotta and peach to draw in the brickwork.
The Stationery Suite
The very talented Silk and Ink Designs created a stationery suite consisting of fabric invites and menus. The delicate fabric with fine printing in terracotta and blush shades was a really unique touch to this editorial. Silk and Ink used classic fonts and motifs with a nod to the French chateau inspiration and the nostalgia that this shoot embodied.
The Tablescape
Within the Coach House, we set up the dining area with a stunning table as our central focal point. Just above our bridal table was a stunning floral chandelier, which mirrored the floral arrangements on the table, carefully styled and arranged by Tasha Vass Floristry. Our colour elements were pulled from the Coach House itself as well as the natural beauty of the Thurning Hall Garden. We also pulled in elements from the French Country style.
Our table was layered with stunning white main plates, gold-rimmed starter plates, embossed silver cutlery and elegant glassware. The table linens were also layered to create a luxurious yet elegant look. I selected a tablecloth in taupe to add warmth. This fell to the floor along with extra-long white muslin runners that puddled on the brickwork floor. Again, avoiding the starkness of white linen, I chose peony pink napkins – just a very subtle shade to echo the florals and candles.
The tapered candles were set in antique silver candlesticks, very fitting for the venue. Each place setting had a name tag with a pale peach tassel and an elegant menu designed by the talented Suzanne from Silk and Ink. This was a printed fabric menu, with the print colour matching those from the colour palette. The hanging floral cloud above the table was echoed on the table by a low arrangement which was flanked by delicate vintage glass bud vases dotted down the length and nestled in the white muslin runner. Two floor arrangements at the base of the table completed this look and added extra luxury to this decadent tablescape.
The Wedding Cake
The gorgeous cake, carefully designed by The Little Sugar Rose, was added to the table. This cake was designed with The Coach House in mind. It gave a stone effect to the design, as well as sugar blooms and foliage inspired by the wildly romantic garden.
Elegant Signage
Positioned outside was a welcome sign designed by Laurel House Design. This unique sign was on white acrylic, with a stone coloured acrylic laser-cut for the sign wording, taking inspiration from the stone look within the Coach House and the elegant stationery suite.
Bridal Styles
Adding to the vision were the two bridal looks, with stunning, bespoke dresses designed by the creative Katrine Boldero. These two bridal styles were added to by the talented Ashley Kay Beauty, who focused on enhancing the eyes, working with cream-based products which give the skin a ‘glow from within’ look. The hair was beautifully styled to create a romantic, timeless look, which added to the Chic vision. The first look was a flattering dress with a lace bodice. This look was added to by the stunning hand-crafted crown with twig and leaf shapes, designed by The Lucky Sixpence. The veil that lay under the crown was a delicate lace veil with floral elements, with our model’s hair flowing and loose.
The unspoilt charm of the restored Coach House, complete with original features and vintage furniture. The delicate lighting from Emotive really brought the building alive, creating a warm, romantic backdrop for our editorial.
The second look was a flowing dress in a vintage style with long lace sleeves. For this look, the bridal hair was styled in an elegant chignon adorned with a head chain, also handcrafted using Swarovski pearls and crystals to complete the look, and designed by The Lucky Sixpence. The home-grown bouquet from Tasha completed this look, and Salsabil photographed this in the gorgeous gardens at Thurning.
