Weekend weddings are so much fun! They are a brilliant way of making the most of your time with your guests and extending your celebrations beyond just your wedding day. However, being organised is absolutely key as coordinating a large group of guests who are basically there just to enjoy themselves with you is not easy! Here are some of my top tips for planning an amazing weekend wedding celebration!

Just a stunner of a mid-summer wedding. With an incredible line-up of suppliers, this was a true delight to work on. From the first chat we had I knew L and I would get along and work really well together and I was not wrong. Her vision for her day was spot-on, and I was able to help her achieve it with some inspiration sessions to focus her choices and planning time. The cheerful wedding design included a little bumblebee motif, mini bells (to echo the venue) tied with ribbons as favours, personalised poems for each guest and bright seasonal flowers.

Last summer I began working on an elegant marquee wedding at Holkham Hall. My couple had booked their venue and knew they wanted a marquee overlooking the lake at Holkham, with their ceremony in the magnificent Marble Hall, but other than that, we had a blank sheet of paper.

I was privileged to be part of the very first wedding at the stunning Ormesby Manor. C&G and their family took over the whole estate for the weekend. Ormesby Manor is a luxurious Manor House in the heart of the Norfolk countryside. With perfectly appointed bedrooms and luxurious Shepherd Huts, this is the perfect location for a weekend-long celebration if you have guests travelling from far and wide.

Within the grounds of their newly refurbished home, we created an impeccably styled, luxurious marquee wedding at home in Norfolk. It was exactly how my clients had wanted; they said their vows to each other with their closest family and friends gathered around them.

With the fantastic wedding venue of Voewood as a backdrop, what could be more stunning than an outdoor wedding ceremony amongst your closest family and friends, with a marquee wedding breakfast to follow? We were lucky to have lovely spring weather and to be surrounded by delicate spring blooms in the Voewood grounds.

Set in a corner of Norfolk, the stunning venue for this wedding shoot was a glorious Vineyard. Standing in Flint Vineyard, you could be forgiven for thinking you were in the wine region of France. With such a unique backdrop the shoot had to be designed around the ethos of this vineyard, pulling together the elements of the location into the details for the shoot.

You’re planning your big day and have hundreds of exciting ideas. Your notebooks are filled with scribbles and your vision board is bursting with potential colour schemes. This is one of the most satisfying aspects of wedding planning. Allowing your imagination to run riot, visualising everything from the dress and the flowers to the decor and food. What could be better? Especially if you’re with your bridal party and there’s some fizz on the go! However, where do you start with researching the best wedding suppliers to deliver your vision and dream day?

For such a joyful occasion, I think we can all agree that the run-up to the big day can be extremely overwhelming. The degree of planning required for a wedding can seem insurmountable at times and there’ll be days when you feel like tearing your hair out and running for the hills. It’s completely normal for a couple to experience stress during this planning phase; it’s a busy time, on top of everyday work and family commitments.

I thought it was about time I shared this stunning shoot I styled last summer at the fabulous Thurning Hall. Using Thurning Hall as the inspiration, I created a shoot that showcased the best this venue has to offer. As a stunning period property, Thurning Hall has bags of character, so we needed to create a design that allowed the venue to shine. Laid-back luxury set against an elegant, romantic setting became the core focus for our shoot. The shoot was packed with romance, seasonal flowers, drama and classic elegance. This is the very original mood board I created for the shoot to share with the suppliers the vision and ‘feel’ for the shoot.

Wow! What an amazing wedding! Looking back on my first tipi wedding back in 2016 at a lovely rural location in Norfolk, College Farm. The day was just wonderful, with stunning weather, some amazing food and entertainment. The location was excellent; the lovely owner was more than hospitable and was a great help to me on the day, too. The farm has horses, rare-breed sheep, alpacas and llamas, which made for some quirky photographs as the sun began to set.

At the tail end of last year, I began working with a lovely couple from London who had their hearts set on hosting their wedding day at Voewood. Voewood is a stunning dry hire venue in Norfolk. With bags of personality and accommodation for 40-something guests, it is perfect for creating a weekend-long wedding celebration. Being a dry hire venue (and a listed property at that), every single element of the wedding needs considering and planning perfectly. Luckily, I have planned many weddings at Voewood, so I know how this venue works and what its little foibles are. It is so unique, and every wedding there is different; it is always a joy to work there.

Earlier in May, I was privileged enough to be asked to organise a Vow Renewal and 60th Birthday Party for two clients. Having been married in an intimate wedding ceremony abroad some 13 years previously, they decided they would use this opportunity to bring all their friends together, celebrate a 60th birthday and reaffirm their vows. Using their beautiful country farm as the venue for their celebration, I set to work arranging everything they would need. The brief was quite simple; it had to have amazing food and be very classic.
